Connection Troubleshooting
If your device can’t be found, won’t connect, or disconnects frequently, follow this checklist from top to bottom.
1) Basic Checks
- Keep your device close to the computer/phone (1–2 meters).
- Make sure the device is powered on and in the correct mode (pairing/discoverable).
- Turn Bluetooth off/on once and try again.
- Restart the device and restart HiBean.
2) Check the Connection Method
Different devices use different connection methods. Confirm your workflow first:
3) Windows: SPP Devices Must Be Paired First
On Windows, many SPP devices require system pairing before HiBean can discover them.
3.1) macOS: The device must be discoverable to show up
On macOS, HiBean’s SPP list comes from a nearby inquiry scan. If the device isn’t discoverable/pairable, the list may be empty.
4) Avoid “Device Already In Use”
Close other apps/tools that might be using the device (Bluetooth tools, serial monitors, logging tools).
5) Cross-platform: “Bluetooth not configured” / Update Bluetooth Identifier
If the device synced from the cloud to this platform (or you previously added it on another phone/PC), you may need to configure the Bluetooth identifier on this platform.

6) Still Stuck?
Please contact support and include:
- Your OS (Windows/macOS/Android/iOS) and version
- Device brand/model
- The connection method you’re using (BLE / SPP / Serial)
- What you see on the screen (a screenshot helps)
