Control Replay Trigger (By Time / Time + Temperature) ​

This page explains the new Control Replay trigger options. They decide whether control changes (heater, fan, drum) are applied by time or by temperature, so replay stays steady across different roast speeds.

New in v1.4.0.

1. What is this? ​

In Auto Roasting > Control Replay, the app replays the recorded control actions from your selected profile.
Now you can choose how those actions are triggered, so the replay fits different roast pacing.

Only affects Control Replay. Bean Temp Tracking (PID) is not affected.

2. Two options ​

2.1 By Time ​

  • How it works: applies control changes strictly at the recorded timestamps.
  • Best for: stable setup and you want to match the original timing as closely as possible.

2.2 Time + Temperature (default) ​

  • How it works: increases happen by time; decreases wait until bean temperature reaches the reference point.
    Before the turning point, temperature can fluctuate a lot, so time is still preferred there.
  • Best for: variable environments or batches that run fast and risk overshooting.

3. Which should I use? ​

  • Want strict timing → choose By Time
  • Want more stability → choose Time + Temperature (default)
  • Not sure → start with Time + Temperature

4. Examples ​

Example 1: Roast is faster (decrease happens earlier) ​

Reference: at t=2:00, BT=170C, heater 80 -> 60 (decrease)
Actual: BT reaches 170C at t=1:50

Timeline: 1:40 -----1:50-----2:00-----2:10
BT:               hits 170°C

By Time:                 [decrease]
Time+Temp:        [decrease]

Example 2: Roast is slower (decrease happens later) ​

Reference: at t=2:00, BT=170C, heater 80 -> 60 (decrease)
Actual: BT reaches 170C at t=2:10

Timeline: 1:50 -----2:00-----2:10-----2:20
BT:                        hits 170°C

By Time:         [decrease]
Time+Temp:                   [decrease]

Example 3: Increases always follow time ​

In Time + Temperature mode, increases still follow time to keep pace.
Example: reference says t=2:30 heater 60 -> 70, replay still triggers at t=2:30.

5. How to set it ​

  1. Go to Prepare Roasting and choose Auto Roasting.
  2. Select Control Replay.
  3. In Auto Roasting settings, choose Control Replay Trigger → By Time or Time + Temperature.

6. Reminders ​

  • Control Replay needs a profile with recorded control actions (heater/fan/drum).
  • You still need to drop manually, and you can end Auto Roasting anytime to take over.
