HiBean v1.3.1: Smarter Automation & Noise Control
Early access build – ongoing polish based on tester feedback
🌟 Highlights
- Live roasting insight: Signal strength indicator plus dynamic background labels keep device status and bean temperature deviations visible at a glance.
- Preferences everywhere: Temperature units, RoR window length, and other roast preferences now sync through the cloud so every device stays aligned.
- Automation upgrades: RoR-based triggers and the new “Mark Event” action let you auto-tag yellowing, first crack, or other milestones the moment criteria are met.
- HB device tuning: Customizable power, airflow, and drum parameters record min/max values (with unit control) for Love Fun Roaster (HB) models, alongside a new SR800 template for Arc.
- Curve smoothing refresh: Temperature filtering plus LWMA/Polyfit smoothing options reduce noise without hiding real RoR changes.
🔍 Stay in Control During Live Roasts
- The roasting screen now shows a signal strength indicator so you immediately know whether the roaster connection is strong enough before committing to a batch.
- Background guide lines on the roast curve gain dynamic node labels; bean temperature events now include comparative text to highlight deviations versus the planned template.
- Arc owners can start faster using the new SR800 template, preloading device-specific parameters instead of rebuilding curves each time.
- App launch is roughly 50 % faster, letting you reach the home screen and connect to hardware with less waiting.
☁️ Preferences That Travel With You
- Temperature units, RoR calculation periods (30 s or 60 s), and related roasting preferences hook into cloud sync. Sign in on another phone, tablet, or desktop and your last-used configuration carries over automatically.
- RoR window settings mirror whatever you chose in preferences, so multi-device setups no longer require manual edits.
🤖 Automation That Understands RoR
- RoR-triggered automations let you start follow-up steps whenever the RoR value hits a threshold—ideal for tightening development phase control.
- The new “Mark Event” action automatically tags milestones such as yellowing, first crack, or second crack the instant a trigger condition is satisfied, keeping roast logs more complete even when you are multitasking.
⚙️ HB Device Customization
- For Love Fun Roaster (HB) grinders/roasters, you can now log and configure power, airflow, and drum speed in custom units while capturing min/max values during a roast.
- Profiles gain a “Create Duplicate” option inside the more menu so you can branch configurations quickly before trying risky tweaks.
📉 Curve Smoothing & Filtering Refresh
- Temperature feeds receive a new filtering control that suppresses high-noise inputs without masking meaningful inflection points.
- RoR calculations now expose LWMA (linear weighted moving average) and Polyfit smoothing modes.
- Each smoothing algorithm supports custom parameters, enabling different damping levels for light roast trials versus high-heat production batches.
🛠 Fixes
- Ensured roast record charts always display key node labels instead of occasionally hiding them.
- iOS clients now fall back to IP-based geolocation if location permission is denied or the system location service is disabled.
- Arc/Arc Pro temperature widgets update immediately after switching between °C and °F—no app restart required.
- Personal roasting statistics only count sessions longer than four minutes that reached the development phase, preventing inflated averages.
- Manual interventions during automation no longer leave the roast stuck in an interrupted state.
- Fahrenheit conversions for temperature compensation and curve rendering now match Celsius behavior, avoiding mismatched numbers across units.
Thank you for testing HiBean v1.3.1. Keep the feedback on automation, HB customization, and curve smoothing coming so we can continue tuning future builds.
